The Opp Pre-Majors baseball team picked up a 6-4 win over Covington County Monday night at Merchants Field in Opp.

Brady Jowers was 3-for-3 for Opp and scored one run.

Opp took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI single from Chase Short to score Russell Moseley.

Covington County added two runs in the second inning on an RBI single and an error.

Opp tied the game with an RBI single from Mason Wood to score Jowers in the bottom of the second inning.

In the third inning, Opp scored two runs on singles from Jowers and Wood to take a 4-2 lead.

Covington County added one run in the fourth inning on an error to cut Opp’s lead by one run.

Opp sealed the win by scoring one run each in the fourth and fifth innings.

Covington County scored its last run in the seventh inning on an RBI single from D. Morchrad.

Wood was 2-for-3 with two singles; and Moseley, Short, Jo Jo Jones and Jowers scored one run each for Opp.

Covington County’s Gavin McCurley was 2-for-3.
