The South Alabama 12-and-under All-Stars baseball team will embark on a quest to win the state tournament this weekend in Brewton.

From July 9-11, the All-Stars will compete in the 2011 Cal Ripken state tournament.

The tournament begins at 10 a.m. Saturday in pool play, and ends on Monday night at 8 p.m. with the championship between the two top teams from pool play.

The following is South Alabama’s schedule in pool play:

Sat., July 9 –

• South Alabama vs. Demopolis, noon

• Attalla vs. South Alabama, 4 p.m.

Sun., July 10 –

• South Alabama vs. Brewton, 2 p.m.

• South Alabama vs. Linden, 8 p.m.

Mon., July 11 –

• South Alabama vs. East Brewton, 10 a.m.

Championship game, 8 p.m.
