The Andalusia High School softball team will hold its eighth annual golf tournament fundraiser Sat., Aug. 13, at Evans Barnes Golf Course at LBW Community College.
This fundraiser will help cover expenses needed for the upcoming season, such as equipment and road trips.
This is the biggest fundraiser the Lady Bulldogs hold each year, head softball coach Marcus Taylor said.
“Without it, I don’t know what we’d do,” he said. “The City of Andalusia always does an outstanding job with supporting this.
“I’m always blown away with how many businesses support this tournament,” he said. “We’ve always had a great turn out.”
The tournament format is a three-man scramble, and the cost per team is $150, which includes a mulligan and a red tee for each member of the team.
There will be first, second and third place winners for each flight.
The tournament will have a shot gun start at 8 a.m., and door prizes will be given away.
Lunch will be provided.
“All around, it’s a good event and it’s something that’s grown over the years and goes right in line with the alumni weekend,” Taylor said. “It’s something, as a softball program, we’re proud of.”
