Andalusia’s volleyball program uses Wednesdays as a day where it takes to the football stadium to do one thing — run.
The Lady Bulldogs had a double-helping of the physical work out yesterday, and today signifies the end of the first week of their 2011 season.
Andalusia’s varsity squad is currently 4-3, suffering losses at the Kinston tournament last Saturday, and in Brewton against T.R. Miller, where they finished 1-2.
Tuesday, the junior varsity squad lost to Dauphin and Providence Christian Academy in Enterprise.
AHS head volleyball coach Angie Grimes said the girls have done “OK” so far.
“We’ve done all right,” she said. “Our transition looked OK. We’ve got a lot to work on, and we’ll get there.”
The Lady Bulldogs will travel to face Providence Christian Academy today in Dothan at 3:30 p.m.
On Thurs., Sept. 1, the Lady Bulldogs will face powerhouse Kinston, and then will have Straughn and Headland at SHS on Sept. 8 in their first area tri-match of the season.
Andalusia’s annual tournament will take place on Sat., Sept. 10, beginning at 9 a.m.
