Andy PeeWee team beats Opp, Straughn

Andalusia’s 11-and-12-year-old PeeWee Bulldogs beat Opp and Straughn last Saturday in regular season action at the high school stadium.

The Bulldogs beat Opp 19-13, and shut out Straughn 31-0 to get the two-game sweep.

The Bobcats drew first blood, taking the ball 60 yards for the score to lead 6-0.

Andalusia recovered an Opp fumble, and from there, the Bulldogs drove 62 yards with a 17-yard touchdown run from B.J. Anderson to give his team a 7-6 lead.

Opp scored its next touchdown on a 65-yard dash and the extra point was good to give the Bobcats a 13-7 lead.

Kendrick “Zues” Smith scored an 11-yard touchdown to tie the game with the no-good extra point.

Andalusia’s defense held the Bobcats late in the contest with the help of Will Clark, who led the Bulldogs in tackles.

Anderson helped give Andalusia the win, scoring on a 55-yard dash.

Andalusia 31, Straughn 0

Anderson had two scores and Clark led the Bulldogs with 12 tackles against the Tigers to help the Bulldogs get the shut out.

Anderson ran the ball in from 70 and 45 yards out.

Smith scored on a 37-yard touchdown run, and Kyson Ward scored on a 62-yard touchdown run for the Bulldogs.

Andalusia scored its last touchdown on an interception return by middle linebacker DeJon Parker, and quarterback Grant Holley nailed the extra point to make the final 31-0.
