Hard work at practice paid off for the Andalusia Bulldogs 11-to-12-year-old peewee football team Saturday night, head football coach Casey Jones said.

Andalusia beat Baker, Fla., 31-0 at the AHS football stadium, and Jones said the team spends a great deal of practice each week working on defense.

“Both the defense and offense are based on the middle-school playbook,” Jones said.

Andalusia’s B.J. Anderson had touchdown runs of 60 and 47 yards, Jamal Hourel had a 20-yard touchdown run, Kenderick Brown had a 42-yard touchdown run and Dejon Parker had a 40-yard touchdown run in the win.

Will Clark led the defense in tackles.

Hourel, R.J. Drish, Martez Wilkerson, Ethan Gobea and Kyson Ward also had tackles for the Bulldogs.

Parker also had an interception, his third of the season.

The Bulldogs held Baker to three first downs, and only one inside Bulldog territory.

Andalusia will hit the road this Saturday night to play Opp at Channel-Lee Stadium. Kick off is at 7 p.m.
