Jefferson Davis Community College’s Lady Warhawks volleyball team got their season started on the right track late last month with the held of freshman and former Straughn stand-out Tori Bracewell.

Bracewell led the Lady Warhawks with seven kills, six services aces and 15 attacks in a 3-1 win over the University of Mobile on Aug. 27.

JDCC won the match 20-25, 25-15, 25-16, 25-23.

Additionally, the Lady Warhawks participated in the Pensacola State College Invitational Aug. 2-3.

The invitational had eight college teams participating in the tournament, and Bracewell was chosen as one of the players on the all tournament team.

JDCC currently holds a 1-5 record after a 3-1 loss to Snead State recently.

Bracewell is the daughter of Victor and Margo Bracewell of Heath.
