Practice makes perfect.
Opp head volleyball coach Christie Spurlin said the Lady Bobcats have “worked hard” at practice, and are ready for the challenge today in the Class 3A sub-state round against Northside in Northport.
“The girls have had good practices this week,” Spurlin said. “They’ve practiced really hard.”
Spurlin said upon hearing some details about Northside, the girls went straight to work on making sure they are ready for today’s match.
“We’ve gotten some details on Northside about their serving patterns, and we’ve been working on that some, along with some several different things for us,” she said.
Spurlin said she’s been stressing the importance of serving, blocking and hitting to the Lady Bobcats (15-11) this week.
“I told the girls all we can do is go up there and give 100 percent, and have confidence and play ball like we need to,” she said. “I told them this is for the ‘championship.’ You’ve got to want it to win it.”
The sub-state round match against Northside will begin today at 3 p.m.
