The Opp Lady Bobcats fell 3-0 to Northside at the Class 3A subs-state round on Thursday in Northport.

Northside forced the Lady Bobcats to make adjustments during each game, and took advantage, netting the 25-13, 25-14, 25-17 win.

“We were excited we made it this far,” OHS head volleyball coach Christie Spurlin said. “This is the furthest we’ve been in volleyball at Opp. We’re gonna try next year to go all the way.”

Spurlin said the girls didn’t play that well at all during the first game.

“The first game was horrible,” she said. “We had to adjust to how they were playing. In the second and third game, we missed some serves. Wherever the ball went, we just couldn’t get to it.”

However, Spurlin did say as each game progressed, the girls got “better.”

“I just wish we had a little bit more time,” she said.

The Lady Bobcats ended their season 15-12.
