“We made too many mistakes, and too many penalties.”

That’s how Opp head football coach Jack Whigham described the Bobcats’ 25-16 road loss to Slocomb on Friday night.

“We’ve got to play in every game, and be ready in the game,” Whigham said. “They were a well-coached team. We had alignment problems, and we didn’t execute plays.

“When you do those things, you’re not going to win ball games,” he said.

The Bobcats held a 10-0 lead at half time, and the Red Tops went on to outscore Opp 25-6 in the second half.

Opp will play host to rival Andalusia next week for its last regular-season game.
