The ultimate girls’ night out is planned later this month as a fundraiser for the Imagination Library.

Covington County’s first Little Black Dress Event, set for 7 p.m. on Jan. 25, will include a silent auction, a meal, guest speaker and a grand prize drawing for a week at the beach, Imagin-ation Library organizer Curtis Simpson said.

And the women who participate will be treated to valet parking and be escorted their seats by some of the area’s most fashionable men, he said.

The silent auction includes a watch valued at $1,200 from Christopher’s; a Tempurpedic mattress valued at $2,500 from Mr. Mattress, owned by Jeffery Douglas; a deep clean and carpet clean for the home valued at $800 from Extra Clean; a dinner for four couples served by George and Patricia “Sister Schubert” Barnes; a Michael Kors watch valued at $250 from Ward & Co.; a spa session from Oasis; and special items from both Maurice’s and Ansley Place.

Ansley Place, Town and Country, Maurice’s and Oasis will provide items for the fashion show.

Barbara Dooley, wife of legendary college football coach Vince Dooley, will be the guest speaker.

And one lucky “girl” will get a prize for a whole week out – Roy Mohon is donating a week at a two-bedroom, two-bath condo on the beach. The winner will be determined from a drawing of all who purchase tickets.

What to wear? A little black dress, of course.

A limited number of tickets are available for $100, or a table for six for $500. Tickets are being sold at Ansley Place, Harold’s, Brooks Hardware and the Chamber of Commerce.

Corporate sponsors include Darby’s, CenturyLink, Henderson Sewing Machine and Ansley Place.
