Prestwood seeking re-election to BOE

James T. (Jimmy) Prestwood has announced plans to seek re-election to the Covington County Board of Education, Place 5. He currently is serving his fourth term in that office.
Prestwood worked for 29 years as a classroom teacher, coach and administrator. As a board member, he was reached Level IV in boardmanship training by participating in workshops sponsored by the Alabama Association of School Boards.
“I would like to thank the people of Covington County for having the confidence to elect me,” Prestwood said. “I would appreciate their continued support at the polls in 2014 so that I can continue to use my experience and training in education to help make Covington County Schools better places.
Prestwood and his wife, Crystell Stokes Prestwood, have two daughters, Debra Prestwood Turman and Lyn Prestwood Newton. They also have six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
