Florala police are searching for “two to three” suspects in a Wednesday night home invasion.
Police Chief Sonny Bedsole said the burglary occurred at a home on Poplar Street; however, the suspects didn’t make away with any goods after being surprised by the homeowner’s daughter.
“They didn’t realize anyone was at home, but when the girl heard racket coming from the living room, she went in and surprised them,” Bedsole said. “They laughed and took off running, she said.”
Bedsole said officers and a tracking dog were able to locate the suspects’ trail, but heavy rains soon ended the search.
“It looked like they rummaged through some drawers in the living room area, but it doesn’t look like they made away with anything,” he said. “Based on the footprints we found, we’re looking for two to three suspects.”
Anyone with any information about the burglary is asked to contact the Florala Police Department at 334.858.3244.
