Katie Odom was named chief financial officer for Andalusia City Schools Tuesday.

Odom, who currently works with Rabren, Odom, Pierce & Hayes, PC, will work out a four-week notice before taking on the job currently held by Jean Sellers.

Sellers is retiring this summer, and the board wanted to bring someone on board to work with Sellers before she leaves, board chairman David McCalman said.

Because the system can only have one CSFO, Sellers will move to the role of accounting supervisor when Odom joins the central office staff.

McCalman said there were 16 candidates for the job.
