1 injured in afternoon wreck

The driver of a Chevrolet pick-up truck was taken to a local hospital after a two-car wreck that left his vehicle on its side Saturday in front of Verizon Wireless.

The driver of a Chevrolet pick-up truck was taken to a local hospital after a two-car wreck that left his vehicle on its side Saturday in front of Verizon Wireless.

One man was injured as the result of a two-vehicle accident Saturday at approximately 4:25 p.m. in Andalusia.

The wreck took place on the bypass, directly in front of the Verizon Wireless location, where witnesses on the scene said a woman driving a Mercury Grand Marquis sedan pulled into traffic in front of man traveling west on the bypass in a Chevrolet pick-up truck.

The identities of the drivers have not yet been released, as law enforcement officials continue to investigate the accident; however, the male driver of the truck was seen walking around in the moments following the collision, before being taken by Advanced EMS to Andalusia Regional Hospital.
