The Covington County Commission is looking for an attorney.
Tom Albritton, who most recently has served as county attorney, was confirmed by the Alabama Senate last week as executive director of the Ethics Commission.
“We are without an attorney right now,” Chairman Bill Godwin said.
Three attorneys – John Peek, Lee Enzor, and Stacy Bryan Brooks – have expressed an interest in the job.
Godwin said it is important to him that whomever is hired has had experience representing government agencies.
Commissioner Kenneth Northey said he is concerned other attorneys aren’t aware there was an opening.
Commissioners are expected to hire an attorney at their March 17 meeting.
