Two trucks collided on U.S. Hwy. 84 adjacent to Covington Electric Cooperative early Wednesday evening.

Alabama State Trooper Matthew Kennedy said that a black Chevrolet stepside was traveling east on Hwy. 84 in the left lane when the other vehicle, a white Wiregrass Construction truck, failed the right of way and struck the other vehicle.

Kennedy said both trucks hit at the left front end, and added that the white truck was crossing the highway when the incident occurred.

Kennedy said there were injuries and all were transported by Advanced EMS to Andalusia Regional Hospital.

When asked how many sustained injuries, Kennedy said only the passenger of the Wiregrass truck had any.

The wreck, which occurred in the Sanford Community, is still under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers.

Sanford Volunteer Fire Department, Advanced EMS, Covington County Sheriff’s Office and the AST responded to the scene.
