RFPD Chief Greg Jackson said he stopped a vehicle for traveling 59 mph in a 45 mph speed zone on Hwy. 84, after 9 p.m.

“I smelled burned marijuana in the car,” Jackson said. “I got our new drug dog, Juree, who altered to the narcotics.”

Jackson said an ounce of marijuana was found in the vehicle along with drug paraphernalia.

Arrested were MSU’s De’Runnya Wilson, 20; Artis Cleveland, 20; Isaiah Maston, 20; and Keith Middleton, 20.

The group was reportedly on its way to a birthday part in Andalusia.

All four admitted to Jackson they could not pass a drug test.

They were booked into the Covington County Jail on a $2,500 bond each, but have since been released.

The Clarion-Ledger reported that MSU spokesperson Bill Martin said, “Mississippi State (officials) are aware of the matter. We are getting more details and will handle it appropriately.”

Wilson is scheduled to begin his junior season with the Bulldogs.

The four are Wenonah High School graduates.
