One by one, vehicles streamed into the Andalusia Taco Bell parking lot Thursday afternoon.

The local restaurant opened its doors yesterday, and general manager Wendi Boutwell said the restaurant stayed busy.

“Yeah… it’s been busy,” Boutwell said. “It’s been great.”

Because of the high volume of traffic, an Andalusia Police Officer was on patrol, directing traffic, which was backed up out of the parking lot.

Boutwell said she expected the first day to be busy.

“It’s been a while since we’ve had a Taco Bell here,” she said.

Enjoying their meal inside of the lobby, Andalusia residents Tina Brown and Angie Bartley, said the food was quite tasty.

“Everything’s very, very good,” Brown said.

Brown ordered the Mexican Pizza and two tacos. She couldn’t name what tasted the best.

“I just love Taco Bell,” she said. “I’m glad to have one back here.”

Bartley ordered the same as her friend and said everything on her tray was delicious.

Sitting at a table near Brown and Bartley, Andalusia residents Kent Dove and Jerry Kalley were talking about their experience at the restaurant.

Dove had two hard tacos, one soft taco and a bean burrito.

“It was all good,” Dove said. “I think it’s great that they came back.”

Dove said he’ll frequent the establishment a few times a week.

Kalley said he loves that Taco Bell now serves breakfast, adding that he ordered a beef burrito with a fresh taste.

Taco Bell is open from 7 a.m. until 1 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, and 7 a.m. until 2 a.m., on Friday and Saturday.
