Winn-Dixie is going paws for a fundraiser this month to help feed dogs at Andalusia’s animal shelter.

A $5 donation added to a customer’s grocery shopping list will help go to purchase a bag of WD’s Paw’s Pet Food.

Assistant store manager Chantz Robertson said the fundraiser ends May 5.

“The is going to be for a whole month,” Robertson said. “We just finished the (Muscular Dystrophy Association fundraiser) and we sent two kids to camp this summer with all of the donations from the community.”

The program is called Feed the Love, Robertson said.

“Sometimes pets go hungry, too,” he said.

Robertson said with every donation made, a pre-made bag of dog food will be sent to the shelter.

With a rewards card, customers will earn an extra 5 cents in fuel perks, Robertson said.

Winn-Dixie is open Monday through Sunday from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.
