Saints’ pair earn honors

Saints’ baseball standouts Kade Suther and Charlie Spencer have been selected to All-Region 22 teams.

 

The Saints came up just short in the postseason, but the efforts of two of the players didn’t go unnoticed.

 

Suther has been a dominating force on the mound this season for the Saints. Suther appeared in 17 games this season with 11 of those being a starter. He finished with a perfect 8-0 record.

 

Suther worked 73.2 innings with an ERA of 2.32. He also struck out 48 batters, and only gave up 57 hits.

 

Suther also pitched one complete game, and picked up one save on the season.

 

For his outstanding, efforts the Mobile native was selected the All-Region 22 team, as well as the All-South Division team.

 

Hailing from Theodore, the sophomore Spencer was one of the most efficient hitters on the Saints’ roster.

 

During the season he displayed some of the most power of any players in the region, and led the region with five home runs.

 

Spencer finished the season with a .361 batting average, and drove in 41 RBIs.

 

In 54 games, Spencer picked up 61 hits, and scored 32 runs.
