Chief deputy: Victim was alert, talking
A Straughn High School student was airlifted to Mobile Friday afternoon after being run over by a vehicle.
Chief Deputy David Anderson said the incident occurred on school property and that how the 16-year-old was run over was still being determined late Friday.
Family friends said that Matt Worley was the injured student.
Anderson said he couldn’t identify the victim due to his age.
Worley’s brother, Gage, posted to Facebook that he was accidentally run over by a car.
Anderson said the victim has some injuries.
“He has some road rash,” he said. “And he has lacerations on the back of his head.”
Anderson said he was airlifted from Andalusia Regional Hospital to USA in Mobile as a precautionary measure.
“He was alert and talking,” Anderson said.
