Members of Shady Hill Free Will Baptist Church in Carolina aren’t happy as their church sign was vandalized some time last week.

Church member Lee Kirkland said the vandals painted “WHM” on the sign with spray paint.

“I discovered it (Sunday),” Kirkland said. “Some other people had seen it earlier in the week.”

Kirkland said he’s going to have to take the sign down and repaint it because one can’t get spray paint off of the surface.

“The sign man in Andalusia will have to re-letter it,” he said.

Kirkland said the church has notified the authorities about a previous incident involving somebody broke into the church.,

“They didn’t do anything,” he said.

Additionally, vandals have also put graffiti on the stop sign adjacent to the church.

Kirkland’s wife, Mary, said she doesn’t understand why vandals are defacing the sign.

“This is God’s property,” she said.
