County BOE still has spots to fill

The Covington County School Board still has three job vacancies and it hopes to fill those positions at its next board meeting on Aug. 18.

At its Tuesday afternoon meeting it approved the following personnel items:

• accepted the resignation of Jerry Merrill as bus shop mechanic;

• hired David Bass as instructional aide at Florala High School;

• granted medical leave to Josephine Lindsey, aide at Pleasant Home School;

• transferred Jennifer Luckey from special education teacher at Straughn Elementary School to teacher at PHS;

• hired Leigh Lee as Pre-K auxiliary teacher at PHS;

• accepted the resignation of Brenda Johnson as counselor at Red Level Elementary School;

• hired Tambry Jewell as counselor at RLES;

• accepted the resignation of Rosia White as special education aide at SES;

• hired Hailey-Jane Stubbs as instructional aide at SES;

• hired Debra Ham as special education teacher at SES:

• accepted the resignation of Patrick Oswald as instructional aide at WS Harlan Elementary School;

• accepted the retirement resignation of Mildred Powell as bus driver at WSHES;

• hired Toby McDaniel as bus driver at WSHES; and,

• accepted the resignation of Tracie Hollinghead as bus driver at Straughn High School.
