Organizers with the South Alabama Gun Club’s 32nd annual Gun and Knife Show are expecting a good turnout next weekend.

The gun and knife show will be held Aug. 15-16 at the Kiwanis Community Center in Andalusia.

Mike Jones, the chairman of the show, said they’ve had to turn down people who want to set up as vendors.

“We’re turning them down,” Jones said. “We’ve been booked for most of the year.”

Jones said the club tries to only have 170 tables for vendors, but this year, it’s topped out at 175.

Jones said he’s expecting between 2,000-2,500 people to show up for the show, depending on the weather.

“If it’s raining, people will want to come inside,” he said.

Jones said there are going to be dealers with new and used guns, along with three to four custom knife makers at the show.

Additionally, 14 tables will be set up for reloading supplies, and there will be seven to eight tables set up for the ladies, Jones said.

“We’re expecting a good turnout this year,” he said.

Food and refreshment will be available.

The show is open to the public. Admission is $5 per person. The show is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sat., Aug. 15, and from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sun., Aug. 16.

Children under 12 get in free and must be accompanied by an adult.
