Jake Bracewell tossed a no-hitter Friday afternoon to lift the LBWCC Saints (4-6 to a 5-0 win over the Central Alabama Trojans at LBW.
After Bracewell sat the Trojans down in order in the top of the first inning, Brandon Cobb got things started in the bottom half with walk.
Cobb then stole second base. Mason Rogers then put the Saints on the board with a monster 2-run home run.
In the top of the second, Bracewell was heating up as he picked up three strikeouts to retire the Trojans in order.
Cobb reached first on single to start the bottom of the third inning and after stealing third he came around to score on a single from Rogers.
The Saints pushed the lead up to 4-0 when Trey McMillian drove in Rogers with a single.
Bracewell got a ground out to shortstop to start the fourth inning and then a diving stop by third baseman Gunner Hendrix and hard throw to first kept the no-hitter in check. A third ground ball ended the inning and Bracewell still had the Trojans held hitless.
In the top of the fifth with one out, Bracewell issued his second walk of the contest but a line drive snagged by shortstop Hunter Baggett that he whipped to first for a double play ended the Trojan threat.
Hendrix padded the Saints’ lead with crushing line drive home run over the fence in right, giving LBWCC a 5-0 lead.
The Trojans picked up a walk to start the top of the sixth, but a double play started by Hendrix at third shut down any potential rally the Trojans had in mind.
Bracewell continued dealing the top of the seventh inning as he sat down the Trojans in order to give the Saints a 5-0 victory.
Rogers finished 2-for-3 with a home run, a single and three RBIs.
Bracewell pitched a complete-game no-hitter to pick up the win on the mound for the Saints.
