Cameron Page (3-0) will look to keep is perfect professional MMA record intact when he makes his next fight on July 8 in Pensacola.

Page will go up against Pensacola’s Martin Downs (1-0).

“He is going to be a tough competitor,” Page said of Downs. “He has been boxing his whole life and I know he is going to be aggressive.”

This will be Page’s first fight since dislocating his elbow in fight last October.

“It’s my first fight in almost a year,” Page said. “I’m just really excited to get back in there. We are going to be looking to make a statement in this first fight back.”

Page explained the fight that caused the injury.

“I guess I had my arm in the wrong place,” Page said. “I dislocated in the first round and then came back and in the third round and choked the guy out.”

Page said that he fought the pain of the dislocated elbow and somehow found a way to win the fight.

Page then spent a few months getting his arm back in shape to fight.

“I had to take it easy for a little while, but the arm is fine now,” Page said. “Now, I’ve been training harder than I ever have before.”

Page said that he has always trained hard, but realized he needed to turn it up a notch in order to seize the opportunities in front of him.

“I’ve always worked and trained hard, but now I’m taking it to the highest level,” Page said. “After talking with several UFC coaches, I’ve got some opportunities ahead me, but I’ve got to work for it.”

The new training program has Page working two or three times a day.

“I’m doing a lot more weight lifting and running,” Page said. “Sparing and rolling two times a day. It’s not that much of a difference the training program it’s more just having a harder work ethic.”

The upcoming fight in Pensacola will be the first time Page has fought professionally this close to home.

“My first fight back and it’s down in Pensacola,” Page said. “That’s one the best parts about it. I’m excited about just getting back out there, but to be able to do it in front of friend and family is awesome. I don’t get to fight that close by so a lot of my supporters aren’t able to come watch me as much. Being able to go out there in front of my friends and family just makes it that much more enjoyable.”

Page’s fight will be part of Island Fighting promotion at the Pensacola Bay Center on July 8.
