School begins on Mon, August 8, 2016, for Opp City Schools. The first day of school will be a full day for all students grades 1 – 4. Kindergarten students will be dismissed at noon on Aug. 8. Their first full day of school will begin on Tues., Aug. 9.

Opp Elementary School will hold an orientation session for all students and parents according to the following:

Kindergarten/ Pre K/New Student Thurs., Aug. 4, at 6 p.m.

They will have a group meeting for students and parents in the gym. Then they will dismiss to the classrooms and teachers will be addressing the group with important information.

Forms for parents to fill out will be sent home during orientation and returned by the students the first day of school. It is not necessary for parents to come to school the first day to fill out forms.

Parents are invited to bring supplies on this date. Please bring supplies, labeled with your child’s name, in a bag.

Students in grades 1 thru 4 may meet and greet their teachers Fri., Aug. 5, 2016, between the hours of noon and 2 p.m. School supplies may be brought and dropped off at this time.

Parents will receive notice of lunch application status by letter from the school. Until an application has been received and processed, students will retain their lunch status from the previous school year.

Supply lists may be found on line at www.oppcityschools.com or may be picked up at Opp Elementary School between the hours of 8 a.m. until and 2 p.m.
