Carpenter named counselor at OMS

Melissa Carpenter has joined the Opp City Schools’ team as school counselor at Opp Middle School.
She has earned a master of science in counseling and psychology and master of science in collaborative education from Troy University; a master of science in instructional leadership from Auburn University; and an education specialist degree in instructional leadership from the University of West Alabama.
Carpenter has nine years of experience as a special education teacher.
She is married to Calvin Carpenter; together they have five daughters and five grandchildren.
