The Red Level Termite Tigers fought hard, but the Brewton Tigers came away with a 34-6 victory in the opening round of the Andalusia Youth Football League’s 2016 Big Iron Bowl at Andalusia High School.

Red Level got the ball to start the game, but was forced to punt after three plays.

Parker Adams nearly picked up the first down on strong right around the right edge on third down, but Brewton’s defenders were able to wrestle him to the ground after a 6-yard pickup.

Red Level’s defense took the field and Jaden Poindexter came up with a massive hit on a Brewton ball carrier on the first play from scrimmage.

Skylar Sanders then made a big tackle for Red Level, but a few plays later Brewton quarterback Nathan Commander connected with Langley Folsom for a long touchdown. Brewton’s Elijah Suarez attempted the extra-point, but came up just short.

Poindexter started the next drive out strong for Red Level with a long run and then connected with Adams on short pass play a few plays later to get them into Brewton territory.

Despite some success moving the ball, Red Level was forced to punt the ball away again.

Red Level’s defense looked strong to start the next series, and Dominic Williams nearly picked off a pass from Commander that forced Brewton into a fourth-and-long situation.

However, on the next play Commander found Folsom for a long gain and Brewton first down.

A few plays later, Miles Johnson powered in from 7 yards out to put Brewton on top 12-0.

Poindexter got the next Red Level series started with a 24-yard gain on the ground, but a fumble a few plays later ended the drive.

The Red Level defense stepped up with big hit that forced a fumble, and two plays later caused Brewton to turn the ball over on downs.

Brewton came on strong in the second half with 22 points to knock Red Level out of the tournament.
