LBWCC sweeps Sun Chiefs

The LBWCC Saints swept the Faulkner State CC Sun Chiefs in two games on Sunday afternoon in Andalusia.



In the opening game of the double header, the Saints out dueled the Sun Chiefs for a 3-2 victory.

Matthew Lowery pulled out the win in the pitching duel giving up five hits and two-unearned runs in six innings of work.

The Saints picked up all three runs in the bottom of the third inning.

Gunner Hendrix finished the game 1-for-2 with two RBI and one walk.

Harrison Norris drove in the other run for the Saints.



In the final game of the series, the Saints only picked up five hits, but to advantage of Sun Chief errors to sweep the series with a 4-1 victory.

The Sun Chiefs’ lone run came in the top of the first inning, but the Saints’ pitching staff shut them down from that point forward.

Chauncey Callier led the Saints at the plate going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run scored.

Matt Jones and Trey McMillian drove in one run each for the Saints.

The Saints will be back in action at home on Thursday when they host conference opponent Chattahoochee Valley CC.
