It’s the time of the year when area moms have a chance to load up on gently-used clothing and toys at bargain prices – the semi-annual Little Lambs consignment sale.

This event is sponsored by the Little Lambs Council, a group of Christian women dedicated to helping local mothers sell their gently-used clothing. This sale is a great opportunity to save money on clothing, benefit the mothers and children of the community, as well as raising money for charity.

“We’re looking for clothing for colder weather, gently used, for children of all ages, maternity clothing, ” Angi Hicks of the Little Lambs council said, “As well as toys, books and furniture.”

The sale will be a two-day event beginning tomorrow, Fri., Sept. 29, from 7-9 p.m., and continuing Sat., Sept. 30, from 8 a.m. until noon.

These times cater to busy mothers who can’t participate in the sale because of their work schedules.

This year the sale will be held at the Kiwanis Center.

Sellers must pay a $12 registration fee, as well as commit to work three hours before, during, or after the sale. People looking to shop must pay a $1 entry fee.

The sellers have an advantage to shop the consignment sale from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday evening. Sellers must have at least 25 items to offer. Sales are split with 75 percent of proceeds going to the seller, and 25 percent going back to the LLC. The LLC will then select a local charity to receive the funds.
