The Andalusia Junior Woman’s Club is poised to help parents create holiday gifts and keepsakes that will be cherished forever.

The group will host a Handprint Painting Party from 2 until 5 p.m. on Sun., Nov. 5, at the Andalusia Chamber of Commerce.

AJWC is working with Custom Creations by Lora to create the ornaments. The actual printing part of the process takes about five minutes each. The ornaments will be fired and glazed, and available for pick-up about three weeks after the event.

No appointments are necessary. Parents will fill out an order form with the child’s name, and purchase the ornaments, which are $20 each, with cash or checks. Pre-ordering is currently available by contacting AJWC members.

This is the first Handprint Painting Party for the group.

“It really depends on the turn-out on if we continue this event yearly,” organizer Shea Paige said.

Custom Creations by Lora is a pottery studio owned by Lora Stough Sellers out of Prattville, Alabama.

“The tiles are and ornaments are of professional quality,” Paige said.

Light refreshments also will be served.

The money raised from this event goes towards helping teachers with scholarships, Meredith’s Miracles, and other charity organizations supported by AJWC.

Other fundraisers sponsored by the AJWC are The Red Garter Review, and Three Notch Market.
