Lady Saints sweep Lake Michigan

The LBWCC Lady Saints swept Lake Michigan on Wednesday afternoon in Andalusia.

GAME ONE

LBWCC 7,

LAKE MICHIGAN 2

In the opening game of the doubleheader, the Lady Saints took an early lead and never looked back as they went on to 7-2 victory.

Summer Simmons drew a walk to get the Lady Saints going in the bottom of the first inning.

Jessica Dickson moved Simmons over to second with a sacrifice bunt.

The Lady Saints took the lead when Natalie Aplin drove a double to left field that brought Simmons into score the first run of the game.

Following back-to-back walks to load the bases, Aplin gave the Lady Saints a 2-0 lead when she came around to score on a wild pitch.

Lake Michigan ran into more trouble in the bottom of the second after loading up the bases with three one-out walks.

Katy Cotton gave the Lady Saints a 3-0 when she drove in Kailah Stocker with a sacrifice fly to center field.

The Lady Saints then loaded the bases back up with another walk.

Betsy Powell followed with a two-run single that had the Lady Saints up 5-0 after two innings of play.

In the bottom of the third inning. A Wyatt drove ball over the fence in left field to put the Lady Saints on top 6-0.

The Lady Saints then held off Lake Michigan for a 7-2 victory.

GAME TWO

LBWCC 9,

LAKE MICHIGAN

The Lady Saints finished off the two-game sweep with a big 9-1 victory in the final game of the series.

LBWCC struck early with two runs in the bottom of the first inning.

The Lady Saints went up 5-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning, before Lake Michigan scored their only run in the top of the fifth inning.

Aplin, Dickson and Powell each finished the second game with two RBIs.
