The Lake Frank Jackson Trailmasters have been recognized for their outstanding contributions in support of Alabama State Parks.
The Trailmasters have been awarded the Alabama State Parks Eagle Award for the Park Partner Category.
“I feel especially honored for our club to be able to receive this award. So many members of the club worked very hard and hardly receive recognition,” Charles Willis, the president of the Trail Masters said.
“We have about 70 members that participate in the group and some do very physical work and others do things behind the scenes.”
Willis says that the group does a number of things for the Frank Jackson State Park.
“The Scarecrows In the Park is our longest and biggest single event we do as a group,” Willis said.
“Thousands of people come out of town for that event. The rest of the work we do is building new buildings.”
Willis says that recently the Trailmasters have built a new restroom building next to the swimming area on Lake Frank Jackson and also funded and built a gazebo in the park.
The awards ceremony will be on April 3, at 10 a.m., in the Frank Jackson State Park.
“All of the public is invited,” Willis said.
“You don’t have to be a Trailmaster, we would like everyone to come out.”
