The Covington County Child Advocacy Center is taking orders for its spring box lunch sale, set for Wed., May 9.

With the fall box lunch sale having gone extremely well, coordinators are looking forward to another successful event.

Kaci Perry, the director of the center, said she is excited.

“Our last box lunch sale sold around 1,000 boxed lunches,” she said.

“So we’re keeping our goal at around 1,000 but we plan to make more in case of last minute orders.”

The Child Advocacy Center provides forensic interviews and counseling sessions for child abuse victims, at no cost to the families.

In just the first half of this fiscal year, Perry says there have been 62 forensic interviews conducted and 122 counseling sessions provided to children.

Perry says there has been massive support for the CAC from the community and she appreciates everyone who has contributed to the center.

“We have had absolutely amazing community support. I hope it continues,” she said.

The lunch box includes Chicken Shack chicken salad, fresh fruit bowl, pickles, a yeast roll, dessert, a napkin, fork and knife plus a surprise.

They are $10.

The deadline to order a lunch box is by May 2.

There’s an option to pick-up the lunch boxes from Southside Baptist Church or have it delivered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
