Andalusia Isshinryu Karate students Taj and Dhilan Patel recently came away with strong finishes at the Battle of Cumberland Gap, held in Middlesbrough, Ky.

Taj came away with a first place finish in weapons. He also had a pair of second place finishes in youth black belt kata and sparring.

Taj was also awarded the Youth Kata Grand Championship.

It was his second grand championship in a month’s time after winning the honor recently in Mississippi.

Taj’s younger brother Dhilan picked up a second place finish in yellow belt kata.
