Andalusia Isshinryu earns top finishes

A few members of Andalusia Isshinryu Karate recently competed in the 34th annual IKC Karate Championships held at the Riverside EPI Center just outside of Atlanta.

The event was hosted by former World Champion Rhonda “Ridgehand” Alexander.

Kila Thompson had a huge day for AIK.

Thompson brought home first place finishes in women’s black belt kata, point fighting, continuous fighting and board breaking.

She also had a second place finish in women’s black belt weapons.

Taj Patel also had a strong day for AIK.

Patel placed first in youth black belt board breaking.

He picked up second place finishes in youth black belt continuous fighting, kata and weapons.
