MEMORIAL DAY BASEBALL ACTION: Ozark goes undefeated to win Opp tourney

Several strong teams were in action at Opp’s Fulmer/Ramer Memorial Invitational, but it was Ozark who earned the championship.

GAME ONE

OZARK 14,

WIREGRASS 15U 3

Ozark opened up the tournament with a big 14-3 win over the Wiregrass Cardinals 15U team.

Will Griffin paced Ozark at the plate going 3-for-4 with two doubles, a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Reed Linder was the winning pitcher.

Allen Jones led Wiregrass going 1-for-3 with a single and one RBI.

GAME TWO

OZARK 10,

OPP 0

In the second game of the tournament, Ozark made short work of Opp in a 10-0 win.

Griffin had another big game for Ozark as he went 2-for-3 with a single, a triple, two runs scored and two RBIs.

Chandler Pyron went 1-for-1 with a single and a walk.

Trey Spurlin and Jesse Coon both went 1-for-2 with a single.

McCain Sieving earned the win of Ozark.

GAME THREE

SOUTH ALABAMA 3, WIREGRASS 15U 0

The South Alabama Yard Goats picked up a 3-0 win over the Wiregrass Cardinals 15U team.

Walt Spurlin went 1-for-2 with a single, walk and run scored for the Yard Goats.

Robbie Gafford was 1-for-4 with a single and one run scored.

Bryce Dolce went 1-for-2 with a single and one RBI.

Tanner Hall struck out 11 batters in a complete-game shutout win.

GAME FOUR

OPP 14,

WIREGRASS 15U 4

Opp got in the win column with a 14-4 win over Wiregrass 15U.

Jesse Coon went 3-for-4 with three doubles, three runs scored and two RBIs.

Brady James finished the game 3-for-3 with three singles, two runs scored and two RBIs.

Lane Ballard went 2-for-2 with a double, triple, two walks, three runs scored and one RBI.

Peyton Ellis picked up the win on the mound.

GAME FIVE

OZARK 10,

SOUTH ALABAMA 0

In the fifth game of the tournament, Ozark downed the South Alabama Yard Goats 10-0.

Landon Trash led Ozark at the plate going 3-for-4 with two singles, a triple, two runs scored and two RBIs.

Darryl Lee picked up the win on the mound.

Ethan Cox went 3-for-3 with a three singles and was the only South Alabama batter to get a hit.

GAME SIX

OPP 10,

WIREGRASS 17U 2

Opp picked up another big win with a 10-2 win over the Wiregrass Cardinals 17U.

Ballard had a big game at the plate as he went 3-for-3 with four runs scored, four RBIs, two doubles and a single.

Blayne Moore went 3-for-3 with two singles, a double, three runs scored and one RBI.

GAME SEVEN

OZARK 10,

WIREGRASS 17U 0

Ozark finished off the tournament undefeated after taking down the Wiregrass Cardinals 17U 10-0.

Carson Dunlap went 2-for-2 with two runs scored.

Holt Stead earned the win on the mound.

Clay Ashberry went 2-for-2 at the plate for Wiregrass and had the only two hits for the Cardinals.
