Two-county pursuit ends with arrest

A suspect led local law enforcement agencies on a two-county pursuit early Sunday that ended with an arrest in Butler County.

William Daniel Little, 43, of Forest Home in Butler County, was arrested when the chase came to an end and is charged with multiple violations, including driving under the influence, attempting to elude law enforcement, resisting arrest, and reckless endangerment. Additional charges could be filed by the Covington County Sheriff’s Office.

The pursuit, which last about an hour and a half, began at about 2 a.m. Sunday morning in Opp when an officer tried to pull over Little’s 2008 Nissan Frontier for speeding and improper lane usage, according to Opp Police Chief Kevin Chance.

From Opp, the suspect was pursued along Hwy. 84 into Andalusia, then to River Falls and Red Level along Hwy. 55. The driver turned off Hwy. 55 onto Garden Road and eventually through McKenzie, returning to Hwy. 55 and into Georgiana. The pursuit ended at the Little’s home in the Forest Home area, south of Greenville.

Multiple law enforcement agencies were involved in the pursuit, including OPD, CCSO, Andalusia Police Department, Greenville Police Department, and the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
