Alyssa Stewart, 19, is charged with felony murder in the October 2022 death of Teyvous Cobbins of Evergreen.

When officers responded to reports of gunfire at the Foxwood Village Apartments that evening, they found Cobbins suffering from a gunshot wound, sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Cobbins was transported to Andalusia Health, and later taken by helicopter to a Florida trauma center, where he died the next day.

Already charged and being held without bond for the murder are:

• Derrick Demetrius Thomas Jr., 20, of Evergreen.

• Le’Morion Lorenzo Fantroy, 20, of Evergreen.

• Siyonesty Marchelle Gill, 19, of Evergreen.

• Teddy Donnell Cozart, 20, of Andalusia.

The four previously arrested suspects were arrested in June. Cozart was picked up in Indiana after being stopped for a traffic violation. Thomas, Fantroy and Gill were arrested with assistance from the U.S. Marshals.

Andalusia Police Chief Paul Hudson said all four are being held without bond under the terms of Aniah’s Law, a 2022 Alabama law which allows prosecutors to request that violent offenders be held without bail. Stewart will have a similar hearing within 48 hours of her return to Covington County.

Chief Hudson said the investigation into this case is ongoing and asked that anyone with information about the case call the APD at 334-222-1155, or Central Alabama Crimestoppers at 334-215-STOP (334-215-7867).
