The smell is unmistakable. Wafting through the exhaust fan outside of Yo’ Craving’s restaurant Friday afternoon one could smell the sweet scent of fried dough.

The newer restaurant on the square is now serving doughnuts in addition to its frozen yogurt and homemade lunches.

Every morning, owner Donny Harris works diligently to make his restaurant’s broad selection of the fried favorites.

By Friday afternoon, Harris was spent after a busy day.

Yo’ Craving is now offering eclairs; a Bavarian Bismarck, which is a filled doughnut; a cake doughnut; apple fritters; cinnamon swirls; yeast-ringed doughnuts with glaze; an assortment of decorate doughnuts; and gluten free doughnuts.

Harris said customers may not know that he can also make doughnuts custom order.

Harris and his wife, Suanne, bought out the former Yo’ Craving owner a year ago after getting out of the convenience store business.

“We just fell in love with the town,” Donny said was the main reason why he put up shop in Andalusia.

Harris works in the back of the restaurant with his sons, Joseph, Jacob and Jordan, as well.

Yo’ Craving is open from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sundays.
