Opportunity EMS EMTs, Opp Fire Department Firefighters and the pilots wheel the woman who was involved in a one-vehicle accident to the helicopter to be air-lifted Tuesday afternoon.

A woman was lifeflighted to a nearby hospital after sustaining injuries in a one-vehicle accident Tuesday evening on Hwy. 84.

The woman, whose name wasn’t released because her next of kin hadn’t been notified at the time, was with one other passenger traveling East just past the Opp city limit sign.

According to Opp Police Chief Mike McDonald, she she lost control of her car, crossed the median and rolled over into the west-bound lane.

When asked the specific injuries the woman sustained, McDonald said he didn’t know.

“All we know is that they are serious,” he said.

Along with the OPD, the Covington County Sheriff’s Department, the Opp Fire Department, and Opportunity EMS responded to the scene.
