The Luncheon Pilot Club of Andalusia has been busy putting together the makings of a great lunch for Thursday.

Esther Barrow, Pilot Club member, said the club will host its annual Square Picnic today from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on the Court Square.

“This is a rain or shine event,” Barrow said. “We want everyone to come out, enjoy a good meal, some good fellowship and good music. It’s all for a good cause.”

Barrow said the brown bag lunches will feature one’s choice of chicken salad, ham and cheese or pimento cheese sandwiches, as well as chips, drink and dessert for $5.

“We’ll even have Route 55 on hand for musical entertainment,” she said.

Tickets are available at Harold’s Furniture, from a club member, or at the Court Square.

“We use this money to help us buy bicycle helmets for Community Christmas and other worthwhile community projects,” Barrow said. “This is money well spent in our community.”

Barrow said the money is also used to promote the “Brain Minders” program in local schools where children are taught the importance of protecting themselves from brain injury.
