Despite the stormy weather that blew its way through Covington County over the Fourth of July weekend, emergency management officials said there was no structural damage reported.

Covington County Emergency Management Director Susan Harris said a few trees were knocked down in the southern portion of the county.

“No damage to structures were reported,” Harris said.

Rain fell in the area all weekend.

From Friday to Sunday, 1.44 inches of rain fell at the Yellow River Highway 55 station, and 1.30 inches fell at the Yellow River Highway 84 station, according to the Choctawhatchee, Pea and Yellow River Watershed Management Authority. In June, the total rainfall for the area was 8.29 inches.

As far as rain for the rest of the week, the National Weather Service out of Mobile area weather forecast calls for a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms today, a 30 percent chance from Wednesday to Friday.

It’s going to be another hot week as highs are expected to be in the mid-90s. Lows this week will be in the lower 70s.
