Opp’s Southside Baptist Church is turning up the dial with its version of an Easter egg hunt on Saturday.

On Saturday morning, a helicopter will drop 10,000 eggs on Channell-Lee Stadium’s field.

Worship and Creative Arts Pastor Chase Hawsey said the idea came when talking about what to do for Easter.

“We were just talking about an Easter egg hunt and how we could do something different that hasn’t been done here,” he said. “We wanted to offer something no else is offering.”

Hawsey said he has friends who have done similar events and he solicited guidance from them.

“It’s kind of a sporadic thing, but it just clicks,” he said.

Hawsey said gates open and registration begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Eggs will drop at 10:30 a.m.

“We are actually encouraging people to be there as early as possible,” he said. “We want people to have time to register. The eggs will drop at 10:30.”

Hawsey said those who can pre-register are encouraged to do so.

To pre-register visit, eggthestadium.com.

Hawsey said inflatables and food will be available.

“We are looking forward to a lot of fun,” he said.
