While residents in Opp and Florala still have a run-off municipal election, other locals are gearing up for the general election in November.
Those who haven’t registered to vote will have until Oct. 24 to do so.
The deadline for voter registration is 14 days prior to the election.
There are three ways to register to vote.
• Go by the probate judge’s office and get a form;
• Got to the board of registrar’s office, which is the preferred way;
• Go online and do it.
The probate office is located in the courthouse; the board of registrars are house in the county administration building.
The online registration is open only to those who have valid Alabama’s driver’s license.

Paper application can also be downloaded and mailed to the board of registrars.
