Opp Police are investigating a Halloween night shooting and are seeking more information.

The incident occurred Monday around 7:02 p.m., when the OPD received a call from a woman who said she had been shot outside her residence on South College Street.

Opp Police Chief Mike McDonald said that C-Shift officers responded to the area and located a 21-year-old female who had been shot with a small caliber hand gun in her left arm’s bicep area.

The victim’s description only said the perpetrator was wearing all black and fled in a small four-door vehicle heading North, and no other details were provided.

McDonald said the victim was taken to Mizell Memorial Hospital by ambulance and has non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators are looking for anyone who may have information about the incident to help lead them to the arrest of the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call the Opp Police Department’s criminal investigation division at 334-493-4511.
