The Andalusia Police Department is investigating the death of a local resident.

Chief Paul Hudson said the Andalusia Fire Department found a man’s body when they responded to a brush fire off Sixth Street North Tuesday afternoon.

The man had been missing since early January.

His body has been sent to Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy.

The APD’s investigation is ongoing. The man’s identity is being withheld pending
