Sean Dietrich and his band, The Boiled Peanut Vendors, will provide entertainment and Sean will do several readings for “The Purple Lotus – Down Home Style” at 6:30 p.m. on Mon., Sept. 11, at Springdale. This is a fund-raising event for Bethesda House, a domestic violence shelter that is being renovated and renewed in Covington County.

Debra Gamble, the newly appointed administrative director of Bethesda House, said, “This event celebrates the progress we have made thus far and will further our efforts in reopening.”

The event will feature barbecue from Hilltop and signature “Purple Lotus” cookies designed and baked by Ellen Foreman of Just Simply Gigi. Dress will be casual. Tickets are available at CCB Community Bank (Andalusia) and Southern independent Bank (Andalusia and Opp).
